Is there a way to link the serial number etched into the front of our engine blocks to the VIN somehow? I rebuilt the engine in my 96 because of a knock and have been hanging on to the old block because it was the original. However, I really have no idea if the old block serial number can actually be linked back to the VIN or not.

There are no serial numbers and no way to link a teksid to any specific car. The date stamp will tell when the block was produced but not the car in which it was intended to be installed.
