Recently replaced the diff bushing and transmission insulator/bushing on my 2010 Gt500 but while taking it out for a ride I began hearing some popping/clunking sound coming underneath my shifter that I recorded, the car came with a short throw Barton when I got it any information I would gratefully appreciate

Happens in any gear while cruising, doesn’t happened often but going over bumps, or downshifting does seem to trigger it for a bit

Your car came was built with a 2 piece driveshaft, I'd check the carrier bearing. Also since you say you replaced the transmission mount and rear axle bushings I'd check those to make sure they are tight and were the correct parts

These intermittent issues can be really hard to track down. But it sounds like you possibly have a damaged or worn transmission bearing or gears.

The trans insulator/mount is the same rubber as the oem however the rear diff is a Bmr polyurethane and they are tight. The rear has new bushings such as rear control arms, shocks, except rear sway bar, while the front half only has new control arms

Drove the car around yesterday made 0 noise but going over * some * bumps or any really hard load transfer like for example 3rd gear at 3500 then going WOT a pop/clunk is can be heard underneath the shifter

After watching the video I wonder about the shifter. These cars mount the majority of the shifter to the transmission tunnel, along with two arms and the shift rod mounting to both the transmission and the transmission tunnel. If memory serves me correctly both Barton and MGW use pieces of Dynamat applied to the mounting rods to reduce noises from being transmitted into the car. They also use bushings at each mounting location. I don't know if it was you holding the phone causing this or if the shifter was actually moving around as much in the video as it seems to be. Since this noise started after replacing both the transmission mount and rear axle bushings my thoughts have been that something in these areas is probably causing the noise. My first speculation on the driveshaft carrier bearing was with the thought that the noise was a much heavier clunk, but in the back of my mind you stated the noise started after the work was performed. Usually if a noise starts after doing work, you go back and look over what was done first.

Now with that being said and watching the video my thoughts are something was disturbed with the shifter while the transmission mount was being replaced. You had to move the transmission to change the mount, did you loosen the shifter mount to the tunnel? When the transmission was raised to replace the mount did the bushings in the shifter become misaligned with the bushing mount on the tunnel? Barton and MGW bolt the two arms on each side that go from the shifter to the transmission to the main portion of the shifter housing, did you loosen these bolts that hold these arms to the shifter and forget to tighten them back up after you changed the transmission mount?

Look over the things you did to change the transmission mount and make sure everything is tight and located correctly, since this noise started after you performed work.

I was going to say shifter a few days ago when I saw the video. But waited.

And if you decide, get an MGW 2 shifter. It's much better than the Barton. I've had both

I had similar sound when I installed blowfish bracket and had it too high.i believe it or the shifter was hitting tunnel. I had to adjust it lower to get rid of sound. I agree with the others, it’s probably something with your shifter.
