Awesome video. Thank you. My HPDE days went bye bye after our oops kid at the age of 41 but someday I'll get back on the track. Until then I'll live through you and videos like these. :)

My shift light (out of view) is probably set around 7200. The engine will rev to 8200 but my tune tops out at 7900. Power peaks at 7700.

Honestly I'm still exploring shift points. I have a programmable shift light.

I have a magnum 2.66 trans with a .85 5th gear and 4:10 gears. Open to opinions on this set up.

The 4.10 gears with the 2.66 Magnum is geared significantly higher than the stock Boss MT82 and 3.73 setup. How do you feel about the RPM you're turning and frequency of your shifting? That's really what you need to figure out to make your decision. Also, do you ever top out 5th gear?

No. I'm never in 5th more than 3 seconds. I swapped to a .85 5th because I run out of rpms on some straights and .75 don't pull.

Shifting is ok but on some turns I drop into 2nd for faster launch. If I need a poor man's traction control I stay in 3rd.

For anyone racing a 2.66 magnum what other rear gear option is there that works?

I mostly designed my gear around vir.

You may like a 4.56 gear. That's actually still higher than the stock combo, but it may keep you out of 2nd, and 5th may be a little more usable. I think the stock equivalent would be 4.88 or 5.13 with that transmission, so you're still not quite as low. Don't take this for gospel, I'm just brainstorming.

Yeah, I was pondering a gear up. Turns out there's nothing between a 4.10 and 4.56. I made a spreadsheet that calculates all the final drive line ratio, speeds, etc with tires, sizes. But I lost it. lol. Tire diameter also important factor in this.

I'll prolly give the 4.56 a try.

Since my power is shifted to mid/top it prolly a good thing to jump up to 4.56 and lose the 2nd gear shifting. And with my 5th gear swap, I could use that gear longer.

Good luck, man! I'm glad your car is finally killing it! You went through a lot to get here.
