Anyone running this(carbonite pulleys) or a version there of? I am getting belt slip around 6600 on the dyno and we don't want to tighten the belt anymore. I know the dyno usually creates more of the belt slip issues than real world driving. It is either this or going to have to go to a 12 rib set up -

I ran one a Vortech years ago and can tell you it will kill your belt. Every time the belt goes around it, it acts like a cheese grater. I would get lots of belt dust from just driving the car

Just sand blast the pulley surface to rough it up some and that will help a lot

You can also go to a bigger crank pulley which will allow you to run a bigger blower pulley and make the same amount of boost

I'm not personally familiar with carbonite coated pulleys, but this is an interesting article to read if you're thinking of doing it. The process of coating the pulley is explained in detail, and the results seem to work pretty well. I did a Google search on this subject and found more positive reviews than negative.

Had a 3.33 carbinite coated pulley. Belt lasted about 10K.

Why are you getting belt slip at 11lbs? I have 15 lbs in my Cobra with the oem 6 rib although I do run the Reichard Racing ultra grip pulley and an ATI crank damper.

that is a old signature- I am trying for 15 +ish- belt is slipping at 14 and 6600 rpm - (want 7400rpm)have a different motor with a 4.13" pulley the stock one was 4.63" Procharger says I shouldn't be having belt slip either- I am going to the tuner to confirm tensioner placement on Monday.

I went to their website and it looks like they have 5 different grades. When I did mine they only had one and it was probably #4 on there site 36 grit. If I were to do it again I would go #1 or 2. #4 is too aggressive

Im running an 8 rib d1sc with a 3.55" blower pulley. I have zero slip with a Gates green belt. The normal 8 rib belts would slip pretty bad on my setup. My tensioner is between the 1 and 2 notch(1.5 if that makes sense)

This is on your 2012? with the factory 7.65" crank pulley you would be spinning the blower approx. 65k at 7400 rpm? does that seem right and you would be pushing 18-20 psi?

you are correct with the blower speed. My car is wastegated at 11.6psi and i only rev it to 7000rpm. Id imagine it would make 17-18psi up top without the wastegate.

Well got the belt slippage issue figured out(shop did after they spoke to PC) ended up seeing 16psi at just over 7300 and it was 770 with 17* timing on e-85, would consider the carbonite if I decide to go to a smaller pulley that is for sure.
