Found this in my side yard. I'm guessing it rolled off someone's trailer as they went around the corner. I don't have a clue what it is but it's built well and weighs at least 2-3x what it looks like it would. It's about the size of a pony keg if that helps. Anybody?

Looks like it is used to stabilize plants in a garden, like a tomato plant. My gf has something similar in her garden, but just not as complex as that one is.

I saw something similar to that, it was used to mix chemicals in a drum.

That was my first thought as well when I walked up to it, but after holding it and looking closer, it's not. It's just too complex and heavy. Thanks for offering an idea.

Interesting. Thanks for the idea.

So after looking at chemical mixers, they're mostly made out of stainless (which makes sense). This stuff isn't stainless, or at least not the grade one would use for that sort thing anyway. I don't think. It isn't to the level of quality like what I'm seeing anyway.

You grass is looking good up close! I am sure it looks killer from a distance.
Thanks! St. Augustine does well here. I don't fertilize or do anything to it.
Maybe some kind of retail product display/holder?
Man, it's awfully over built if that's the case.
That's a well made thingamajig.
Lol. That's about all ive determined.
Maybe some kind of lobster or crab trap?
I'm in a north dallas suburb. ~350mi from the gulf. Don't those traps have some sort of one-way hatch to keep the crustaceans from backing out?
Cardi B's IUD?
As good as any explanation ive got!
my old girlfriend IUD is my best guess
Ouch! Luckily she's an old gf now.

Take a photo on a white background and do a google image search. I searched the one you provided on the grass and it found some hits but I think the AI of google will have an easier time on a white background. It works kind of like Shazam which can find the names of songs after listening to an audio clip.

Fun post OP!

See any MADE IN CHINA stickers? lol

Is it magnetic?

IDK, appears the small diameter has an open chamfered lead-in from one end, wire on the opposite end.
Large diameter with a separator in the middle, wire on opposite end, is meant to be loaded from the opposite end as the small diameter.
