I'm wondering if anyone knows what's involved in the camshaft cap retorque process? If I'm not mistaken, it is broadcast message 3521.

Mainly what I want to know is: do I HAVE to take my car to the dealer for this? I'd like to do it myself, if possible.

Anyone? ...anyone?

I'm sure that you could do it your self. The mechanic that did mine said he had to remove the power brake unit and also the clutch linkage. I believe there is a certin order to retorqe them also if I remember right it is 10nm (nuton meters) and you will also need a new valve cover gasket. All said my car still ticks acually wrose now so you might want to wait and see what the final word from ford is on this. I believe there working on it.

To get the driver's side valve cover off you will have to remove the brake booster. No way around it. I tried. Good luck.
