I'm a newbie at this so bear with me. I'm thinking of purchasing a 96 cobra. I would like to have a car with a big lopey sound to it. Do they make cams for the dohc that will do this? What's involved? If so where? Thanks

Sean Hyland, Modular Performance, Houston Performance, Crower, Comp Cams and several others are making cams for the 2 and 4 valve engines.

The size of the cam will determine how much needs to be changed. I would say changing the springs is a must if you want a lopey cam. Also you need to plan it for Nitrous/Blower/Turbo/ Naturaly aspirated. There are different cam profiles from each of the people above, for very different applications.

At a bare minimum you'll need.

New head studs, Get ARP's so you can reuse them if necessary. Stock are TTY(torque to yeild), wich are a one time use.
New head gaskets. Get good ones to prevent problems.
New front timing cover gaskets.
