cam identification

I have a set of 01 cobra heads I took the cams out of for cleaning and milling.
well i lost the paper I had with where each cam came from.

How can i identify my exhaust/intake cams left/right hand sides??

There should be ford part numbers etched into the cam somewhere between 2 of the journals if they are stock or FR500. I would assume if they were any aftermarket they should have SOME kind of part number somewhere, I'd imagine they would be etched in as well.

They are just stock cams, Ill try to get numbers off them tomorrow!

Wait, so you did find out that those are the correct part numbers in the correct spots?

I was pretty positive I had it right anyways after losing the paper I had it written on but as you can imagine I wanted to verify. Yes, from everything else Ive looked at it seems like the 6A27X number identifies the cams location and mine is correct....i think this holds true for other factory 4v cams too

Continental/mark 8 cam part numbers:
YF3E 6A272 AB pass exh.

YF3E 6A270 BB pass. Intake

These were from 2 diff sources so yes it does look like you are correct, good hunting!

I'm actually in the process of getting my heads CNC ported and some FR500 cams put in so now I'm curious, what kinda work are you having done yourself? What kind of flow numbers were you quoted? I'm just curious how the place where I took mine and the numbers they quoted, how they compare to some others out there

I didnt have them ported, just had the surface milled, I had a slightly warped gasket surface
