Here's the pics I said I would post. I painted my calipers yesterday with a Dupli-color kit. See what ya think. Before After
dang that looks good. How long did it take, how hard is it and how much did the dupicolor cost? thanks -Anthony
I was getting ready to say, "I don't like brown calipers," but that was the before photo. LOL Fine job ... the paint sure is glossy! Did you use new "C" clips? Mine got a little bent when I removed the calipers on mine. Dan
sweet...mine look like donkey turds next to yours...yet another project I will add to my list of "things to do"
Anthony, I started around 10am and finished up at around 4pm. It included jacking up all four corners of the car, cleaning and removing calipers, three coats of paint. I also washed the insides of my rims. I waited until this morning to use an exacto knife to clean the paint off of the 'Cobra' letters and make sure the it was dry enough to put the rims back on. The kit cost around $18 CDN so, probably ~$12 US? It's not hard to do just time consuming. Dan...I used the original 'c' clips cus my brakes only have about 19k on them and are in great shape. The calipers actually didn't look that brown, just faded black. Must have been my digicam. lol BTW...thanks for the compliments, guys.
No, they have to be painted, or you can buy painted calipers at: http://www.diskbrakesrus.com/make/ford/cobra.htm See this post for a few pointers on painting: http://www.svtperformance.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=97198&highlight=painting+calipers There are lots of references on painting calipers in the Search function. all you gotta do is scrape out the cobra lettering with a razor blade/box cutter.....those look just like mine:-D
