Crappy gearing like I expected [so far.] They really need to stack 1-5 closely together. From the looks of it, it currently has 1-4 poorly spaced and, like somebody mentioned in another thread, THREE overdrive gears. That's ridiculous.
Some YouTubers are already lauding the C8's performance even though we don't have a single solid number on it yet. People are expecting a friggin' base and Z51 Corvette to come out of the gate swinging hard. It'll be a good performer, for sure, but I doubt the base and Z51 will put up anything (outside of its 0-60) that's going to set the world on fire. Now, when the "good" Vettes come out, that will be exciting. Speaking of performance, Ford has released that the GT500 can do 0-100-0 in under 800 feet at 10.6 seconds. That 10.6 looks impressive at first glance, but when you break it down to its parts, not so much. Let's say it takes 3-ish seconds to stop from 100. That's still over 7 seconds to reach 100. That's fast, for sure, but it's not groundbreaking. One of the engineers stated in an interview that the 0-60 will be "mid 3s or better." He said they're still shooting for a target and that's why they haven't released an "official" number yet. So, 0-60 in, say, 3.5. It takes another 4 seconds to reach 100? Crappy gearing like I expected [so far.] They really need to stack 1-5 closely together. From the looks of it, it currently has 1-4 poorly spaced and, like somebody mentioned in another thread, THREE overdrive gears. That's ridiculous.
