Hi guys so I just sent my engine to get built at MPR but I’m stuck In between using regular cosmetic gaskets or going copper and getting heads fire ringed and block grooved I just wanna see if anybody is running anything similar as I’ll drive it on the street for time to time but all the racing at the track, I just wanna know how reliable the copper gasket is I know they will hold anything you can throw at them but since I’m sticking to wet deck is there any coolant and oil sealing issues also read something about retorquing after several heat cycles, I’m gonna run the KB 4.7 and I’m pretty high on the build upper 20’s just wanted to see if any of y’all high boots guys are running the copper gaskets wet decked with no issue.

Not sure about the other stuff but when I had a +100hp FFR Cobra kit nitrous car with a 11.25:1C cammed 351W it made 510HP just on motor. I used Felpro Copper lined head gaskets & had the block "O-Ringed". I was told that was cheap head gasket insurance.

He said that they will leak overtime you have trouble cuz it’s wet deck block ,you have to retorque as regular maintenance and you have to fire ring and grove the liners at the block.
I have cometic gaskets on mine and also going 4.7 kenbell . I was told that if I keep it under 30 lbs of boost should be fine. I plan on running the 4.7 at about 28 lbs. We will see how well it holds up.

Do,you happen to have the bad Grabber Blue KB GT500 that won Norwalk NMCA True Street this weekend?
Sweet car.

Manny I'd follow Tims advice and stay Cometic and the best of the head studs (there are 2 types).
Plus I'd creep up on it as you might need to spin the blower as hard as you think.
I can't imagine you'd need close to 30psi.

Ya talked to Tim decided to o ring the sleeve with a copper o ring and used the Cometic MLX that has the fire ring groove he says he says he uses this setup up to 35 psi all day and my whole block will be arp hardware with the arp2000 headstuds

Looks awesome, MPR builds some badass mod motors. Are you going with a 3.6K
