I was wondering if anybody has build a gauge and has plans to build one? It just seems like such a simple concept not to have something out there that can be built.

Building a bumpsteer gauge is not that hard. If you have a gauge to pattern off of it's even easier.

I've seen guys rubberband or tape a laser pointer to the hub and place a screen with vertical lines as a reference.

Start googling and researching bumpsteer.

After buying nearly everything ^ this man right here makes, went to Maximum Motorsports and picked up one of their gauges. Very happy with it.

I just want to pay someone to do my full bump steer. How much should one expect to pay for a full bump steer?

You don't really do half a bumpsteer haha, you either do it or don't. It's not bad to do, just time consuming. You do a full alignment on the car, pull the wheels off and set the bumpsteer, put everything back together and set the alignment once more. That's obviously grossly simplified but the gist of it. If you don't have the ability to I'd look into a shop nearby that has a lot of experience with alignments or in my case I have Long Road Racing down the street from my house. As far as expected cost, not sure since I did mine myself. Are you planning to bumpsteer front and rear?

Bruce, how much would it cost to have you set up the bump steer on my car, front and rear?

Honestly we really are not a shop that can do work on customer's cars. Once a year we usually offer a single installation in the off season for one of our bushing kits, but that is in the off season. We have three race cars we need to maintain plus a couple of businesses that need attention.

I charge $150 for an IRS bumpsteer operation when we do a bushing install. If you're not doing an install, it's going to be a bit more. The front is a little easier.

Hope that helps.

I have it. Yes it could be made but the part that will cost you the most is the damn guage. When you factor in price of the guage, the hardward, the additional parts, assuming you don't make more then one trip to the store I don't think you will save much money.
