ya saw that this am. Good stuff!

Sucks it's going to require a new balancer. J2fab is quoting 1000 to 1400 for the setup without a balancer so it's going to be very costly as well. Hopefully someone will make something more stockish. I'm sure mild bolt on guys don't want to drop 2k and swap balancers just for a lower. As these cars age a stock replacement type lower will have demand.

Justin said his setup works with the Innovators West damper. Most everyone who is pushing their cars and racing have gone to the SFI unit from IW by now anyway. The OEM damper is over 15 years old and should be replaced anyway.

Side note.......anyone making this type of mod is not targeting "stockish" cars, so making one to fit the stock damper is a waste of time. Stockish cars don't even need a crank support.

I'd say a majority of my 4lb caged lowers ended up on ported eaton/2.3l cars. Many of those type of guys don't need or want anything like what has just been posted. There's also the market for guys that have worn out stock lowers.

That's why I feel a lower with an improved drive system that could be backwards compatible with a stock lower would allow for a much larger market and thus a lower price. Yes it wouldn't cut it for 3.0l+ blowers but it would have a market for the average user.

Can someone school me on this. What's the advantage of this IW damper and that J2Fab piece OVER a caged lower setup with upgraded bushings/locking hub?

Oh wow very interesting. Of course this is in the works right after I put my caged lower/locking hub on in preparing for my 3.4 I'm installing lol.
