Im trying to find the Borla ATAK muffler part# used in the 03/04 cobra. I have an SLP LM2 cat-back that im reconditioning and want to switch to the ATAK mufflers without having to spend the steep price tag on the whole Borla cat back. With the general research I have done, I cant seem to find JUST the mufflers for purchase and searches usually only result in the full $1k+ cat back. Anybody have any experience or information to share with me on something like this?

Thanks,
Bill

ATAKs are probably one of the most removed mufflers out there. I'd think you could find used easy and cheap.

I agree, and you’re correct. I can find them, BUT finding the correct 2.5” diameter pipe and the same outlet angle/orientation as they come in the cat back kit is the next issue and the other reason for my question. Trying to minimize the amount of fabrication or cutting needed by getting the correct mufflers to begin with.

I guess I'm confused a set of atak take offs will be center inlet/outlet like slp and will be 2.5". The only thing is the Borla welds them in the cat back so a little effort would be required.

Yes. Exactly, which is what i need. If im able to get a set of center in/outlet 2.5” mufflers cut with some of its old straight tubing i can just unclamp the SLPs and clamp in the ATAKs. Thats the most ideal, but i could get away with finding the mufflers with no piping, going and buying a 1ft of 2.5” tubing and having it welded to the muffler ends so i can use it.

I've never seen the ATAKs sold by themselves. Go talk to your muffler shop. They might be able to get you a pair and install them. It's not going to be a pop and swap deal. You're going to have to do some cutting and welding no matter what.

Why not just get a pair of SLP mufflers?

I work in an exhaust shop. We can't get them.

I haven’t seen them sold separately since around 2018-2019.

Stingers are a superior design as it is a flow through. ATAKs use a weird mesh amplifier type design, I believe their name is a anagram from their design.

You can still get the stingers; they are now called s-type mufflers. They also make a touring muffler equivalent called the pro XS I’d like to try myself one day.

Look into Carvens. A couple friends of mine run them. Not too bad at idle and part throttle, but really wake up when you get on it. And they sound a ton better than ATAK's.

Those are a very well built (solid) muffler. I was impressed by them when we got them.

I am still waiting to hear a sound clip of those mufflers on our cars. I have always liked their products and wish I would have got some of their early titanium mufflers.

Complete side bar but would love to hear what a titanium based exhaust would sound on a modular.
