Okay everyone, Went to work in the garage today LOL. Had to get that paint job knocked out. I have to say it came out great! Man, I wish I had my new gun when I sprayed the whole car. That thing is amazing! Very easy to use and sprays great. Having the right tools sure does make the job easier. Got my graphics laid out "again." LOL.... The lines on the yellow tape are to guide me on where to spray my coats of red. I need to expand my pattern with every coat. The main issues here is to cover the black. Here it is after all my coats over the black. I think it took 4 coats to cover. Looking good and has great coverage over the black. Time to expand with thinned out base coat. Here you can see my work area and where it is covered with full base coat. Now I will need to thin out the base coat and then expand my spray area again. If you look at the QTR you can see my 800 grit scratch marks in the QTR. Areas where I painted you cannot see the 800 grit scratch marks. Here is the QTR after I expanded my work area with thinned out base coat. You can still see a few 800 grit scratch marks at the back of the QTR. This is no problem. The clear will finish this off nicely..... Here my graphics are unmasked and the new white foam tape has been applied in preparation of the clear coat. The QTR looks GREAT! Problem is the last time I did this it was the clear coat I screwed up LOL. Let's see if I can get it right this time......
