After I got the bad area fixed and ready for paint, I finished masking it off. I put the foam tape around the edge of the QTR panel. I'm not going to paint the whole QTR, but I am going to re-clear the whole thing. Here everything is masked off, plastic sheeted and foam taped. First I had to spray the bare metal with etching primer. Here is the first coat of black. Here is the final coat of black. Everything is smooth and even again. I ended up putting 3 coats of black. Now I will let it dry overnight and then re-tape the graphics tomorrow. Got to love having to do things over again. Here you can see how that foam tape works. It also keeps the over spray out of the jams. I'll reaffix the foam tape tomorrow after I get the graphics re-taped off.
