Okay everyone. HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!!!! Don't ask me how or when, but I got my car painted this week. Let's just say I took time "after" work LMAO!!!! First thing I did was get my work area set up. I went with a dual air hose set up to keep from having to drag a hose around the car. The less I have to drag a hose around the car the less of a chance I have of accidentally touching the car. Then I went around the car and used etching primer to cover areas where bare metal was showing. The next thing I did was set up my lighting. Then I started to spray (yes, I did use a paint suit and face mask/respirator for painting as I knew there would be plenty of fumes even though I had 4 box fans ventilating my garage). Now, I'm not one to show only the good. As we all know S#!T happens. For some reason on the passenger QTR where I made the repair the new paint had a chemical reaction to the old paint. Time to go back to the drawing board and fix this. I had to wait for the paint to dry, sand it back down, spray new primer, wait for it to dry, sand it and then paint it again. It was a 2 hour repair.... So, needless to say I was put way behind the power curve.
