I got the taillight panel done pretty early. So, it was time to move on to the sanding. I worked on my trunk and back half of my QTR panels. I used my orbital sander. I normally sand wet, but since I'm repainting the whole car I need to work smarter, not harder LOL. So, I started sanding dry and then finished it wet. I sanded it dry with 400 grit. Then I sanded it dry with 600 grit. You may notice the trunk lip is not sanded. Since I painted the taillight panel I didn't want to touch that area or get dust in it. Here is the back half of the passenger QTR panel. After I sanded everything with dry. I then wet sanded the entire area with 600 grit wet. Here is the back half of the driver's QTR panel. After the whole car is done in this 400/600 grit process I will go over the whole car with 800 grit to give it a final sanding and prepare the car for paint. You guys may notice there is some burn through in areas (exposed primer). It's no big deal since I'm painting the whole car. It is very smooth and even and the paint will cover it.
