Hello everyone, Well, I got a little done this weekend. Wife had me doing "put Christmas decorations away" duty this weekend LMAO!!! So, since my headers came in I wanted to mock up my steering shaft to get that in order. It was pretty straight forward, but I had to make some adjustments. I wanted to work from the rack back to the steering shaft. Felt this was a little more comfortable for me and allowed me to see where I needed to make the bend around the header. First attempt (yes, I did this twice LOL). Looks good to me here. Got the shaft fitting and looking straight here. It even looks good here (header clearance wise), but the shaft is sitting on the frame. When I lifted it into position the shaft/coupler was too close to the header. Back to the drawing board..... So, I remeasured both double D shafts (based off the ones I just cut) and made them a little longer. This time it sits where I'm VERY happy with the results. Here you can see there is even more clearance from the header. Yes, the shaft is sitting on the frame, but when I lift it into position it fits perfect. Here I'm holding it in position and it has plenty of clearance around the header and frame rail. I had my wife come out and turn the steering wheel while I held the steering shaft in position and it worked flawlessly. The "ONLY" thing I will need to do now is mount a heim joint to the frame. I can't hold it in position all the time LMAO!!! Here is the completed steering shaft. All double D shafts have been drilled. I have "not" added and red lock tight yet since it has not been permanently mounted.
