Multiple people came forward and testified about this creep. He even admitted to obtaining drugs for the purposes of raping women.

Which they took willingly.

His "admission" in the civil trial was used to incriminate him in the criminal trial.

The violation was as clear as day which is why he refused to make a deal. His lawyer had 100% confidence that this is how it would play out.

Yep, if you admit to something in a civil trial, it can be used against you in a criminal trial.

Keep supporting a rapist.

Lol call it whatever you like. But dont make a deal you are not willing to keep. Had the promise not to prosecute been made there would have never had admitting of quilt.

When the prosecutor declined to charge him, publicly, it took away his ability to use the 5th amendment during his civil trial. The subsequent prosecution team then decided that they weren't bound by the earlier statements and used the civil trial to get his admission of guilt.

So they couldn't get an admission in the investigation phase because of the 5th amendment and had no case without it. Then got him to admit during the civil trial because there was no longer a possibility of being charged based upon the prosecutor's public statements. He couldn't use his 5th amendment rights and had to answer questions.

The second team decided, "it wasn't in writing so we can ignore the promise". It's called Fruit of the poisonous tree. Evidence obtained illegally or improperly cannot be used by the state.

Cosby's guilt or innocence has no play here, this is a ruling on how the State handled the case. If we sit by while the state reneges on deals what comes next. Do we allow searches without warrants? How about beating a confession out of a known perp? Do we start convicting on hearsay? We can wish that justice always will prevail, but the law must be obeyed by those who enforce it.

And that's the whole deal, in a nutshell. You start breaking laws to get known bad guys, sooner or later laws will be broken to get you.

Make no mistake, there is no one here defending Cosby or his actions. He admitted to his crimes. He is a shit bag that fit into his world of entertainment perfectly and may he be judged by his Maker accordingly.

What is being upheld here is the rights guaranteed by the Constitution. If the government can break the law with no consequence, what stops them from violating you or your family?

The Constitution is the law of the land and must be upheld.

I would argue that the only real reason Cosby was tried in the first place is that he took a stance that blacks needed to be more responsible for their actions, and so the left made him more responsible for his actions. Careful what you ask for.

I didnt realize that Hunter and Cuomo took the stance that black youth needed to take more responsibility for their actions. I stand corrected.
