Went back to the track for the second time with my new combo. Last time I did an 11.69 @ 122.85 with 1.83 60’

This time I was able to 60’ a bit better and it showed huge on my ET!
1.78 60’
11.42 ET
125.24 MPH

DA was around 3200 (last time was 4000)

Only got two passes my second was a 11.57 @ 126 with a 1.88 60’ spinning.

Engine Combo is:
Iron 5.4, Trinity TVS, 13/14 Injectors, JLT 123 and VMP 91 octane tune.

305/45/17 MT ET/SS’s on Weld S77’s - I drive 500KMs round trip so no slicks or bias ply in my near future.

Stock - manifolds, X with cats, throttle body, upper and lower pulley.

Car made 543RWHP and 542RWTQ a couple weeks ago.

I ordered a 2.4 pulley, VMP twin 67 and twin fuel pump boosters. Maybe I can catch a 10.99 with a 1.65 60’ and more power. What do you guys think?

Very nice. Looks like it was making more power too. Did you cool it down longer or shift at a different rpm? Trap speed was up. Keep working on that 60'.

DA was a bit better. 3200 vs 4000.

I did let it sit for about an hour, however I’m shifting at 6200 now, I think I was unintentionally short shifting closer to 6k last time.

has a deep 10 in it with a 1.4 60 foot. work on that lauch

Are 1.4’s really possible on a Drag radial, stick car? I watched a couple YouTube videos and found a guy running consistently 1.6’s - so that’s my current goal. Cutting a 1.65 vs my 1.78 could net just about 2/10ths, little better DA and more Boost may get me the other 2/10ths.

Friend went 1.5s on a mickey drag radial in his 07 Gt500. Full size fronts. 4.10 gear, pulley, exhaust, and a tune. Went 11.0s
So it's possible. You have to slip the clutch more on a drag radial though.

Wow 1.5’s!! Good know it’s possible, was than an ET Street or ET/SS or something more like a MT Radial Pro?

I also have full size fronts (20” Welds), 4.10 gears, adding pulley soon, but stock exhaust (unless you count a Corsa Axle back) and VMP tune. I think I can come close. We will see.

That was before they came out with the newer ones. It was either the original drag radial or the pro. I run the pros and have seen 1.61 60s on my 03 Cobra with an SRA.

Take it to 6500.. thats a plenty safe RPM on the iron motors. Mine saw 6700 on occasion.

Seems youre a little down on power too. How much timing built into the tune?

I had a similar combo to you, only with a whipple dual 68mm throttle body and made 643 whp.

Nice car!!

Thank you. I’ve heard really high revs kill the 5.4’s but up to 6500 was safe. I’ll talk to Justin Starkey regarding RPM limits.

I honestly couldn’t tell you the timing. I do know that AFR is 10.5 around 3600 and 10.8 at 6000 - so it’s a bit rich. I’m leaving it as is, installing the 2.4, twin 67 and fuel pump boosters and sending Justin a log to make sure it’s still all happy.

I don’t get too hung up on dyno numbers, and I think 125-126 MPH shows it’s makes good power. Running stock manifolds and X pipe with cats may be a restriction though. Did you have yours at the track to see the MPH?
