It's a 2016 6.2 gas and i seen they switched the recommendation from 5w20 to 5w30, thoughts?

Yeah just traded my 150 in for a 250, trailor was way to loose in the back end for it.
I'd run 10w30.
Would it be ok to run the 5w20, just wondering as i have 2 cases left from my 150?
Sure. I just prefer a little thicker oil.
So the 10w30 would be better for monthly tow/hauling?
It just affords a bit more protection than 5w20. You will most likely never notice any difference.

Just an update switched to the 5w20 amsoil sig series and filter. Mpg on the highway jumped up from 12.3 to 13.5, wonder if i could squeeze it up to 14 with an AiRaid cai.
I doubt the oil made the mileage difference, but that is a solid choice.
Interesting. We're due for our first oil change, the dealership is giving us a free one. I'll try the 5/20 on next go around.
You are correct, same filter works on the Mustang 5.0L Coyote.
It's not unheard of to increase mpg by using a lower viscosity, superior engineered lubricant.
Sure, but a 9% increase in MPG is a bit much unless his last oil fill was 5 gallons of gear oil.
We're getting a solid 13.5, and now due for it's second oil change.
