I posted this answer in another post. BUT. Go to a carpet sales and installation store and buy a can of carpet seam adhesive remover. Put just a little bit on a WHITE terry cloth rag and rub it in and changing the rag to a clean spot often. It is actually a commercial type of dry cleaner. Used it to get chewing gum off the back seat of my 1990 Mustang GT about 12 - 13 years ago and it took it all off considering it was almost covering about half of the back seat. Just be careful the fumes are strong but it works better than anything I have ever used and it safe to use on practically anything.
