Hey guys,
For a while now I have been trying to figure out what I want to set up my car to do and I think I have figured it out. Im looking to track race my car, it is my daily driver. I don't mind stiff ride at all I use to have bc racing coilovers for the look and currently I have bags. I don't want to go back to the bc racing br type because they arent as track oriented as I would like. Is anyone running KW V3 coilovers? If so do you like them? What are some pros and cons?

Tein makes a nice set of legit monotubes for about $1500 - give them a call. they also look spectacular. From a lot of experience 400 front 175 rear is good.. I have the cortex Jri setup its beyond good. they came with race oriented 500 front 300 rear but that rattled my fillings out on Michigan roads. For double that you can start to get into real race stuff.. that's why the Tein's are a great deal and they look bad to the bone.

Another very good one is the Vorshlag proprietary bilstein set.

I've had great luck with my BCs. my car is daily, but sees the track and runs up and down MT. ST. helens. I'm set up with BOSS 302GTS race car spec alignment and the car is on rails. i got my BCs for $995 shipped.

Check out Cortex, Vorshlag, Ground Control, MM, and Griggs. All reputable companies with quality products.

If money is no object, go with double adjustable JRi shocks. If you have a budget, all these companies have Koni single adjustable versions for much more reasonable prices.

F.D. Sako the Jri double adjustables are not that expensive only $4000 or so if you get singles on the back like I did.. FYI I am regretting that now, I should have got doubles on both - dealing with these Michigan roads i'd like to turn down the high speed rebound a lot on the rear and front for street.. leave the low speed comp/reb where it is for control of roll and high speed dips. Keep in mind you will need more springs to play with - I've been through three sets of springs and going to a fourth so that's more and more $. The build quality of the Jri cortex setup is like a Swiss watch and I've raced my way from Chicago to Detroit and back through very hard roads, high speeds, lots of city - they dealt with the harshest of bumps.

Now, the BC's are a spectacular deal - I have a friend with them and they ride excellent as long as you don't try to crank the damping so high they freakin explode. They are a tough monotube and have the nice feature like the Tein's you can adjust the rebound travel that is so nice for rougher roads and tracks. I recommend the BC's if you want an upgrade to adjustability, handling, and lighter weight.. if you want any track time you should look at the other setups.

Maximum Jri kit

Here is a link to the Ohlins.

Or Penske at a mere $10700 for four way adjustable

Both Ohlins and Penske don't even come with springs! wtf!

The thing I don't like about the Ohlins and Penskes is that they are true coilovers on the rear. This reduces inboard wheel clearance
