I have a jeep that I just rebuilt and looking to sell it. It's a 1978, so not for everyone who "thinks" they want a jeep. How does one sell it? Find the right audience, in my area, minimal scammers, ...? How do I set a proper price?
Does anyone read the news paper these days? FB market place? Is craigslist still a thing?

Over the last 20 years I've only traded them in, not sold to private party. Do we require cash these days?

Sorry, I'm very ignorant on this.

Well, I’m trying to sell a Fiesta ST on Autotrader. The amount of scammer responses is stupid. “Ok, I’ll send you a certified check, and when it clears, I’ll arrange for pickup.” In general, if we don’t speak, or you don’t test drive the car, you’re a con artist/thief. This probably doesn’t help.....

I used the TRED service through cars.com to sell my Mazdaspeed3 last year and it was pretty painless. They act as intermediary and escrow agent so everything went smooth. Cost was $99 I think. For an older jeep like yours I might try some specific Jeep forums and FB groups, go to your target audience.

BAT definitely. The way the market is and the popularity and lack of depreciation a jeep has (I know it's a 78,its appreciating at this point) you could have bunch of people throw money at it.

Ive sold 4 cars through Craigslist with the last one being my Terminator for more than asking. The first person that contacted me about the Cobra actually bought it.

Where are you located? Wait until late spring/summer and you could sell that in no time for top dollar in western CO

You'll have no problem getting top $ for that rig!

Sent from my SM-G986U using the svtperformance.com mobile app
Lol, what's top dollar? What should I ask for this??

Details:
Frame off rebuild
Frame blasted and coated internally
Near rust free tub, repainted Army tan, rhino(?) lined inside.
Doors reworked, New seals*
Hard top, paint matched inside and out.
Tall jack, hood mounted
33" ish tires, matching spare rim/tire, Dunlop radial mud rover 255/85 R16
New leafs springs and shocks, 4" total lift?

304 v8
New oil pump, New water pump. New fuel pump, New power steering pump. Has exhaust leak or lifter tick(?), runs good, does not burn oil.

T176 (Maybe a T177?) 4 speed Transmission - Rebuilt
Dana 300 Transfer Case
AMC 20, completely rebuilt, disc brake conversion, Detroit Locker with 4.10 Gears
Dana 30 Front Axle, completely rebuilt, new Disc Brakes

Rocker panel armor 3/16" and tube step
Rear quarter wrap around 3/16" armor
New Flat fender

NOT PERFECT! Engine has a lifter/rockr tick or exhaust leak, not sure. Unknown miles on engine but runs well, does not burn oil. Dash is carryover and hacked by last owners.

Bat isn't exactly easy to get a vehicle listed on and takes a long time to get approved if you get approved at all. Just FYI.

I’ve had scammers in all forms of car sales form. I think the worst was offerup. I always end up selling my cars through Craigslist.

Jeep Forum for your specific year/model. Facebook Marketplace
eBay

Craiglist is dead.

As for price, post some pictures. Given the state of the world, I wouldn't be surprised if you got $40k.
