Best cams for npi motor?

Hi, I have a 1996 Thunderbird with the 4.6L motor. I'm about to do my valve seals and timing guides and was wondering what the best performance cams are for a stock motor. I don't want to have to retune everything yet, I also don't have the funds for that yet. Can I just put big cams on my car and get big power or is it not that simple?(I assume it isn't) Thanks.
