On Tuesday I was driving home and hit an unmarked road construction grind out. It was only about 4 inches deep and 5 feet long but I hit it hard at a good speed and bent all 4 of my rims on the ZR1. Decided to just go with a forged rim to remedy the situation since the stock rims are known to bend. Can’t believe the difference a couple pounds a rim makes for feel and handling. very happy! I also had the shop who mounted my new rims repair my old ones. I will keep those just in case the next guy wants them. pics!
The factory rims are trash anyways. GM really should have put better rims on the ZR1/Z06. Looks good, what is the brand/spec of the new ones.
crazy part was you could not visually see any bends until they were off the car on a road force balance machine.
@ArabianOak FYI: Contact these guys for a bid to fix. They are well known, great reputation. They did a great job repairing a curbed wheel on our Explorer Sport. Twin City Wheel Repair, Alloy Wheel Repair MN
I think the OP was trying to be polite and not flex on us. His factory wheels are fine. Jk, freaking sick ZR1!!!
Went for a cruise earlier and thought about lighter rims...I think I can get some SVE's that are 10-11 lbs lighter per wheel than my stockers. Makes me wanna blow some money. LOL
What do you mean by, for the next guy, are you not keeping the car for like ever? Wait never mind, lawl. Is that how you say it? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

lucky that patch cut out wasn't like 20 foot long you would probably busted up the front end splitter/ body work - nothing underneath got messed up? And love the new wheel selection.
