I've had all kinds of fancy, expensive, and 'exotic' meat jerky, and my absolute favorite is the Korean Pork BBQ jerky sold at Costco.

If you don't like flavorful and incredibly tender jerky, it's not for you.

That's one of my go-tos, but I found out the hard way that it has to be refrigerated after opening.

Some friends on NC made excellent jerky in their oven leaving the door cracked. My toaster oven/air fryer thing has a setting for Jeremy as well but haven’t tried it
I've tried it before. Besides it taking a ton of energy/time and making your whole house smell like jerky- Its a bitch to clean up. It bakes the drippings on instead of just pulling the water out of them. It does work though.

Need some recipes guys. Do you really need a dehydrator to do these?
  • 1 1/2 to 2 pounds flank steak
  • 2/3 cup Worcestershire sauce
  • 2/3 cup soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 2 teaspoons freshly ground black pepper
  • 2 teaspoons onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon liquid smoke
  • 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes
Comes out really good. I like mine a little sweeter so I add 2T of honey.

For sure, but that's all jerky technically...after 3 days of opening you should put them in the fridge (according to the bag, and my wife lol). I just don't let mine get too far past that 3 day mark haha, refrigeration really dries jerkys out.

I was not happy finding a nearly new bag of moldy jerky in the cabinet.

Just had some garlic bohemian beef jerky from bucees, and wow that was some of the best beef jerky I’ve had in years. Bucees is my new go to for some jerky. Actually that was only yesterday. Haha

If you have a pellet smoker, it does a fantastic Jerky as well. No need for the liquid smoke.

My favorite jerky brand is Kickass brand out of MN. My local dive bar used to carry it, and I can occasionally find it at grocery stores here in IA.

With that said, I semi-regularly make my own using a similar recipe as the one posted here already (minus the honey), and it is awesome. I like is super thin and very dry.
