My cobra battery is disconnected when parked for the winter in my garage and guarantee there will be no charge in it when I hook it up, I'll charge it fully, drive around couple days with no issues whatsoever, if I let it sit for 3 days without driving, the battery will be dead or very close to it. I have a snap on battery meter and the rate drops quite quickly in 3-4 days. No mods are done as of now( will be later this spring) Any suggestions?

That's what I was wondering, the battery was bought brand new 2 years ago, it's weird though because once driving around it's fine, of I drive it every day no issues, fires right up. Soon as it sits for a couple days it drains quickly... I have a 66 fairlane that had a battery plus 10 years old. I disconnect it in the winter and when I hook it up she fires right up each and every time.

Pull one of the battery terminals when it's sitting and put an amp meter on there and see what the current drain is. Most cars have very small drain around 2 ~ 5 miliamps. If you see 100+ miliamps something is draining your battery. If not then you simply have a bad battery.

Thanks MakcolmV8 I will try this and see. Does it matter if it's the positive or negative terminal?

No either terminal. As long as you remove the cable breaking the circuit and install the digital amp meter inline to complete the circuit. Make sure doors are shut, key off and everything completely off or you'll pop the meter. If you don't have one any cheap digital multimeter from harbor freight or your local home depot, radio shack etc. will work.

Had same problem on my bro's 03. Had Low jack installed and it would drain battery. Check to see that they didn't connect the power wire to the GEM module fuse. That will not let the module go into hibernation and drain battery. Have them install low jack to different power source.

Subbed because I have the same issue.

When car was stock it never drained. Had shop install whipple and supporting mods including KB bap and ever since my battery drains in 3 days tops. From mods installed only BAP required a 12v wire I have consulted with shop that installed everything and we can't figure it out.

I have done some current draw test and know there is a high current draw but get lost when tracing it! I have giving up now and will soon be seeing an electrical specialist. I will update with findings for those with this problem
