Here's a picture I took of a Hawk HPS front Pad for the Stock Cobra PBR Caliper and the Baer 6P caliper. The pad for the Baer 6P caliper is significantly larger.

Can I ask what rotor this is? I have identical looking rotors on my car that were there when I purchased it, and haven't been able to figure out the brand.

Also, is a dimpled rotor prone to cracking like a drilled rotor?

I think this is a EBC rotor... it's not one of ours.

Dimpled Rotors are far LESS likely to crack... we have not had a failure yet and we've sold quite a few of them

The 6P Caliper uses the same pad that the C6 Corvette uses so pad choices are plentiful and the prices are very reasonable. The C6 pad is a pretty good size.... if I have time tomorrow I will take a picture of the pad next to other pads so you can have a comparison

Friction isn't a function of surface area. But thermal stability of the pads and rotor is, which is why when I looked at the pics I was disappointed they'd left just as much of the rotor face unused as the PBR's do.

Another thing people are not taking into consideration is the stiffness of the caliper. The Baer 6P caliper is MUCH more stiffer and rigid than the stock unit.

The Baer 6 pad looks very similar to the stock PBR pad. The picture is a stock pbr pad versus a Y2k Brembo pad

Stock rotor swept area with Y2k Brembo calipers.

Coleman rotor swept area with PBR calipers. About 1 11/16" swept area

Coleman rotor with Y2k Brembo calipers. Swept area on the rotor below measured out at 2 1/8"

If I had to guess I would say the two bolts that hold the caliper to the mounting bracket have to come off to get those pads out.

If you look at the pic close you can see the slots in the caliper that the pads sit in. No pins to pull out to take the pads out the top on those calipers.

To remove the pads all you have remove the caliper. Remove 2 bolts from the top of the caliper and the pads pop right out VERY EASY
