Atlanta riots, sorry protests

Anyone in the Atlanta area have insight on the riots going on downtown? I am headed down there Sunday for a tradeshow and staying at Sheraton Atlanta Hotel downtown. Leaving Wednesday afternoon.

Is it generally media hype? Is that hotel or the Georgia World Congress Center convention center in the ring of fire? Saw that they had the guard there till the ninth which had me wondering.
