US Army lowers education requirement for enlisting

Jatavia O'Neal - Yesterday 4:59 PM

It’s the most recent announcement from the military branch.
The news came after the Army had difficulty with its enlisting numbers.

According to Military.com, the service announced that people could enlist without previously required education certifications if they ship to basic training this fiscal year, which ends October 1.

“The army has an understanding that if you are intelligent that something happened that kind of derailed you from graduating high school, this allows you that opportunity, but it’s just for a short period of time,” said SFC Justin Mejia, a station commander.

You can go to any Army recruiting office to enlist in the service.

FlahDah man.
It is not as though highschool is teaching much. I think we should pick children from age 10 and create a Spartan type Military.

Boys and girls includes.
1 Hour wake up eat
2 hours of math/science and reading.
2 hours of combatatives (PT) to evolve to your primary skill set
1 hour lunch and activity of your choice
1 hour drill and movement formatioms
1 hour military lectures on tactics, techniques, procedures. This will grow to tactical level planning, operational planning, strategy.
2 hours VR combat games with different battle fields and judgement calls from follower to leader skills.
1 Hour supper
Remainder of night personal hygiene and rest.

1 two week summer vacation
1 two week winter

Well, as the Air Force just instructed NCOs to avoid using he/she pronouns at award ceremonies. They're advised to use gender-neutral language, and replace he/she his/hers with "they". It will surely spread and get worse. So, keep this crap up and our Armed Forces will be begging for recruits. So lowering the requirements might just become a necessity.

I recruited for the Army from 1998 to 2001.

When the Army couldn't meet their quotas they would institute a temporary lowering of standards in order to increase the recruiting pool.

For example; a potential recruit could not have tattoos on their hands or neck because their dress uniform couldn't cover them up. So, a waiver program was set up for people with tattoos on their hands and neck. Their tattoos would have to be reviewed to see if they could be considered acceptable. No gang or vulgar tattoos allowed, but others were allowed.

Also, they wanted college or HS graduates. Then they said a person who had a GED could join if they met all the other requirements.

So, they raise and lower the standards in order to meet their recruiting goals all the time.

Gotta adjust when you're not meeting your recruitment goals! There are likely many why were intending on joining the Armed Forces but had second thoughts with all the woke crap and gender preference recognition issues going on now.

Maybe if you tell patriotic volunteers that you will receive pronoun training, you may have trouble recruiting.

As early as last March, the Pentagon said it would make a small cut to the force of only 0.2 percent. But now word is out that all branches of the military are struggling to meet recruiting goals.

The largest branch of the military, the U.S. Army, has hit 40 percent of its recruiting goal with only three months left in the fiscal year. To compensate, the Army lowered its standards. No high school diploma or GED? OK. Tattoos on the neck and hands? Fine, no waiver needed. That recruits with no high school and neck tattoos might be training and discipline problems later will be a challenge left to platoon sergeants and squad leaders.

How smart do you have to be to pull a trigger and dodge bullets?

The real challenge will be with the basic training and the first year of unit assignment. You are right, strong NCOs will have to step up and whole teams will have to create tight bomds to male it work.

My friends son who is 17 wants to join but told me he doesn’t want to deal with all the wokeness/weak/progressive crap they are doing. Anecdotally, I’m seeing this.

The army did the same thing in the 1980s. They just had the soldiers get a ged after basic/ait.
I went to electronics training with folks who were given a choice, military or jail.
They were ok with me. 1978-1984

This should be done more.

Anyone remember the cop show Sledgehammer? There was an episode where he was trying to recruit gang members...classic show.

That was at Osan only, NOT Air Force wide.
