I've been told that for example a 275/35/18 BFGoodrich Drag radial is wider than my Toyo T1R 275/35/18. The reason for my question is I currently have a 9.5" rim and my Toyo is a little narrower than the rim (slightly). I have room to go maybe a 1/2 bigger inside and out before it starts to rub. If I were to get the BFGoodrich drag in a 275 would it be wider? Or do you think I have room for the 295/35?
Thanks!

Despite having the same "size" not all tires have the same "dimensions". That is why AWD and 4x4 vehicles are strongly discouraged from running makes of tires. (For example: 2 Dunlop 265/70R17 in the front and 2 Goodyear 265/70R17 in the back.) The mismatch in "dimensions" could lead to powertrain issues.
