So ive been told for my setup that i wanna go with 72# injectors, ive heard lots of great things about the id1000s tho. im going to be running a 2.9l whipple w/ 3" pully stock balancer , CJ65 TB, 127mm CAI, long tubes with off road X pipe, KB BAP so my question is as the title states, are ID1000's over kill for my setup. thanks in advance guys

technically, yes. however most places the ID 725, ID850 and ID1000's are the same price. Id get the ID1000's just so when you upgrade later to e85, you dont have to change injectors.

The 72#s will support upward of 800 RWHP and ID1000's over 1000 RWHP. Depends on your long term goals. I wouldn't push over 800 RWHP on the stock internals anyways.

thats what i figured. i was thinking maybe just get the id725's i dont have plans for a built block, atleast anytime soon. i dont plan on going over 750 hp/tq range, i wanna be above 700 tho. but if im not its cool, honnestly aslong as i kill it when racing. and i want the car to make it the right way with the right parts.

With the mods you listed you should easily hit 700-725 RWHP on a conservative tune.

ID's are the best injectors on the market. If the 1000's are the same price, there's no reason to not go with them over the 725's.

maybe you guys are on to something, afterall this is why i started the tread, becuase i dont know lol

This is where I learned a lot myself. Read, ask questions, learn.

We all knew nothing at some point.

Tuner can take care of many issues to make sure everything plays nice together. My whipper mono blade throttle body is an absolute bitch but VMP took care of it in the tune.

if you don't mind spending the money and there is a possibility of more power (overdrive crank..) in the future do the ID1000s. i am putting them on a set up that will be in the 700 hp area too. ID boast about how they are the best to tune from 300-1000hp.

Get the ID1000's!

Tuned properly, you will not notice a difference between them and the 725s.
On a FI car, there really is no such things too much fuel, but you can easily have too little.

And I was one of the first to run the ID1000's on a Ford mod motor, many asked why run an injector so large...they are almost maxed out now.
