Just out of curiosity, has anyone used a Holset HX50 for a single turbo build?
I've got one sitting on my coffee table waiting for a rebuild.
I haven't run the numbers yet to determine what version it is, but it will be essentially in the low 60's compressor side, low 70's on the turbine. Flow rate in the high 90's lb/min. Not sure what the AR is, like I said I'll have to check the numbers on it.
Seeing as some guys are running turbos as big as 88mm, I don't think this would be excessively large. I've also seen a single 76 make over 800, so I would expect to be in the low 700's at the least, which is just about all my fuel system/drivetrain will allow for the time being.
Any thoughts?
Also if anyone knows of a good rebuild kit for them let me know. Right now I'm looking at getting them from a Holset distributor up in Indy.
