Just wondering how many of you guys are running 17 x 10.5's and 17 x 9's? I am thinking about going with 275/40/17's and 245/45/17's. Just want to remove the quad shocks and have more meat without any rubbing. Thinking about 10th anniversary wheels. The 275's will be stretched perfect on the 10.5. Thanks guys!!!

275's were basically made for 9in width. 10.5in is way too wide for a set of 275's, you'll be pinching the sidewall big time. You need to step up to a bigger (wider) tire on that width of a wheel...or else your car is gona look a lot like this..

I have, but it didn’t looks as dramatic as the picture above (I know that was an example). It was on my SS Camaro I just sold. Unfortunately I don’t believe I have any pictures of them but I’ll check for you.

I was using American racing rims 17x10.5 TT2’s with MT ET Streets 275’s. Discount tire approved the tire for my rim and said it would work. Though it fit fine and didn’t really look stretched out it always bothered me that the tire didn’t fill the rim width like I felt it should. The tire didn’t meet the lip of my rim very similar to the picture above but without the stretch. You might be able to do a search on ls1tech.com, I believe there was several other people running the same tire combo as you’re talking about and you should fine some pictures too.

Good luck,

Mike N~
