Hello everyone,

The lady friend and I are looking to just get away for a few nights. Both of our work schedules are very tough to accommodate by, but we are looking to get away Friday night 12/16 and come back Sunday 12/18. I live in Waterbury, CT, and all of the places I found that we like are 3.5-4 hours away. Only problem is, we both work Friday night (the night we plan on leaving), and if we leave CT around 9ish, I don't feel like driving 4 hours, and I'm not even sure if these rentals would allow us to check in that late.

I feel like somewhere under 3 hours from our location would be much better. We are just looking for something peaceful to get away from the chaos of life lol.

Any help is appreciated.

May be a stretch with time for you, but lake George in New York is very nice area. I use to camp there with my family.

Ray, December is a difficult month because many/most cabins are closed for the season by the end of October. Including Lake George cabins. Those that are available are usually closer to ski country. Which means a long drive for you. I did, though, find a nice cabin in Weston, CT which is only a 40-45 minute drive. Very scenic. Out in the country. Click Here for more info. $175. a night. It's an air b&b so you have to go through an online process to connect with the cabin owner.

Another one in Redding. Built around 1700.

Connecticut Retreat (two choices below), a cabin and a neat treehouse.

If these aren't good, Google winter cabin rentals in CT, NY and MA and hopefully you'll find something within an hour drive of Waterbury.

I have no experience with air bnb but i have started searching for a place to stay next summer to visit family in north carolina. The little i have looked, it seems like some great deals going that route.

Air bnbs work well, my gf and I use them often to get away for a weekend. If they have plenty of good reviews, we go for it. Super easy.

I don't know how to work the app though, I let her do that stuff.
