Anyone know how to remove a rear view mirror?

I got a new home link auto dimming mirror.,. but not sure how to get mine off :shrug: is there a special tool or just a technique that I don't know.,., I don't wanna break the windshield

Many of them have pieces of metal that are glued to the windshield, which the mirror slides onto.

What Ford Racer said. Some mirrors "snap" onto the metal braket with a plastic tab, while some actually lock onto in with a small Allen headed screw.

My brother was so drunk and pissed one time that he ripped his off. It didnt look that hard to do lol
