I've been watching all of the SHO reviews over the past couple months but have yet to see pics of Atlantis Green.

Has anyone seen this color in person or have pics to link to?

Mine will hopefully be here at the end of the month, but I'm having trouble waiting. :burnout:

Nobody has seen one in person then? Here's the best I have found so far- from the ford configurator website.

It is also available on the 2010 Fusion (we have one). It is very dark, looks black in almost everything but direct light. But we love it, very sharp color. The pics from ford have it look more green than it really is though.

Yep, I see that color everyday.
I run the paint automation at the Chicago Plant.
You can only get the green on the SHO and the MKS.
And yes it is my favorite SHO color also.
For some odd reason we paint very few Atlantis Green.
But then I have a 2008 Bullitt which is green....

I saw one on the road a couple weeks ago.

I would have sworn it was the same DHG that is on my Bullitt.

Looked great, would be my number one choice for sure.

Not trying to threadjack, but maybe you can answer me this.....Why did/does the Laser Red Tri-Coat fade worse on plastic than metal, and when it does fade on metal, why does it seem do so as if it were improperly sprayed?

No I cant really answer, simply because I'm not sure.
But I will tell you what maybe going on.......
If it's fading buff & wax and keep it waxed with a good wax!
There's a very good chance the plastic parts...bumpers are not Tri-coat?
Keep in mind I'm not sure, the bumpers could even be single stage paint?
Single stage meaning no clear at all, when waxing the plastic do you get
red residue on your rag? If so single stage...no clear, which can fade.
Also for the most part all plastic parts, bumpers.....come into the factory
painted from a vendor.

Back in the early spring, when we were doing trials on new colors
the Atlantis Green caught my attention immediately!
It was my understanding that DHG was a Bullitt color only.
Being good friends with our Dupont rep, he give a me a color test panel
to check against my Bullitt.
Atlantis Green is darker and has much more blue in it than the DHG ;-)

I just posted this over on the SHO Forum too:

This was under sodium lights in the dealer lot, along with the camera flash. It really shows the metallic and color much more than you would typically see unless under direct bright sunlight.

Hello.
Being an Army ground-pounder in a previous life, I'd have to admit I got used to the color of green. I even recently paid extra to have a custom build bicycle painted olive drab green, and it looks great.

I'm in the market now, for a V-8 equivalent powered car, to replace my 2001 Grand Marquis, since the Mercury line has now bit the dust. I've looked at every American car manufacturer, and a lot of foreign car manufacturers, and I don't recollect seeing any 2011 cars that are available in green. What's up with that?

Will the 2011 or future Taurus SHO vehicles ever be offered in green, and if so, will the customer be able to specify the shade of green?

Thanks,
Steve
