When I was on patrol I’ve had citizens police academy people do ride alongs. In SWAT we go to their meetings periodically and put on a presentation and show them some equipment and vehicles. It’s a basic familiarity with Law Enforcement procedures and they are exposed to every bureau and division at a department. It really makes people pro police when they really see the truth, although I’m guessing most were pro police before enrolling. I say go for it as it might motivate you to apply to the academy. I always wanted to be one and have zero regrets following this path. The reality of life will have no greater student than a P.O.
