[QUOTE="slowgreycobra, post: 16652684, member: 87992"] This is a topic I have been rolling around in my head a lot over the past few years. The newer Ford stuff doesn't excite me after about the mid 2010's due to a bland design. The base model and GT Mustang offerings look boring to me. I still like the GT-500 and 350 looks. The newer offerings certainly perform significantly better than the older cars. I looked at a 2019 Hellcat last week and while it was cool, they wanted 71k for a car that looked almost the same as the GT next to it. There wasn't much that let me know the car was special. That seems to be a problem with the latest offerings. I feel like if it is a 71k car, I should be able to no be confused by a base model in the Wal-shart parking lot sitting 1-2 rows over from it (OK I would never take a car like that to Wal-Mart). It was eye opening when the 5.0 GTs came out and blasted my Terminator in every category except straight line performance, and even in that category it only barely surpassed it. That was the first time I realized how quickly cars were improving after the minor improvements of the 90's to 00's. Due to traveling for work a lot, I have driven cars from all different manufacturers. There is one theme they all have, control. Control over you and how you drive and operate the vehicle. It was annoying trying to fight some of them. The Chrysler 300S was the most fun out of all of the vehicles I rented. Trucks also seem to keep the nanny systems to a minimum and were decent to drive.
