^ I could be wrong but I see it being easy to eclipse the ZL1, however the ZL1 1LE is in a very high eschelon. For context, the regular 1LE same day, same track, same driver was less than 2 seconds off the fastest lap ever recorded by motortrend at willow. 1:20.x vs 1:18.x set by a Lamborghini Trofeo R... that’s a ridiculously capable car on aggressive tires, with almost 700hp. The zl1 1LE almost hits 6’s at the Nurburgring. I don’t remember exactly but the gt350r is comfortably in the 7:30’s iirc. None of that is slow, and the gt350r is likely a better overall driving experience but the performance difference is vast. To give context to the regular ss 1le vs gt pp, 3 seconds at willow is so wide they would be specced into different tiers. And the mustang is $3k pricier in that test. I’ve had seat time in the new ss and the new mustangs, im short so the canary felt weird until I raised the seat high, and the mustangs feel big until I start driving them fast-they shrink at speed. Overall though, save the gt350s I’ve spent time in, the ss 1le is about as good of a street car you can get. I will say the 2018 mustang exhaust is waaaaaaaay better than the stock 1le. It’s honestly better than the gt350 to my ears only because it’s more traditional. I really want to hear a bullit.
