Haha, I have had almost the exact same results Marc. My stock 03 got like 17-18. With tune etc like 20. 5.4 swap, it actually improved to like low 20’s, but that was na. Put turbos on that, lightened it up a bit, went to a 3.55 from a 4.10 but kept the stock c heads and cams. Surprisingly it improved to mid 20’s on road trips but is completely dependent on driving conditions, I could also get like 8 if I was in it a lot haha. I had also put viper overdrives in the trans. Now I have 3.73’s, twin 62s, a race car intake manifold (fr500c) no emission crap anywhere, stage 3 turbo cams, very high cfm gt500 heads stage 3 ported, and a stupidly conservative tune. Mid 20’s on the freeway. About 15 mixed tank with some nice fun pulls, 20 if I do mainly highways. My 800whp 3.73/big cam, setup at 3400lbs gets what my stock 3650lbs 400whp car did. And I don’t believe the mainstream media crap about global warming, so I have no reservations about ditching the emissions crap. I drive this car 3k miles a year. It’s just tree feed.
