I think Chevy will have a hard time fitting anything bigger than a 4.0-4.5L Dohc v8 in the Canada engine bay. Forget about turbo kit. They’ll be lucky to fit a supercharged 4.5L Dohc in that engine bay. The 1LE va 2018 mustang gt pp1 Rest In motortrend paints an honest picture of how good an SS 1LE is for a daily driver. $46k as tested. Only .7 seconds slower than a Porsche 918s 22.2 around the figure 8 (its 1.3 faster than the stangs 24.0 for comparison. At willow, it pulled a 1:20.x, the stang ran 1:23.x it was 3.3 seconds faster on a short course. That’s ridiculously quicker. Talk any crap on the lt1, the suspension geometry they can put into the Camaro chassis by optimizing the front end space to accommodate suspension instead of engine is worth the trade off. The SS 1LE is as quick or quicker than a gt350 on that track and hunting for a gt350r, while being down 75hp, and on a lesser tire (barely though). Put 75hp into that car and it’ll likely take on a well driven gt350R. I hate to say it but Chevy has an excellent car on their hands with the camaro. Straight lines I don’t see the mustang having an issue beating the zl1 or zl1 1le, hellcats, and real world demon times (on drag radials), but I don’t see this generation gt500 out doing the zl1 1le around any track that has a decent amount of corners. Maybe lime rock or seabring or sears point.
