[QUOTE="Voltwings, post: 15796222, member: 155561"] Three points (and to be clear, i'm discussing, not arguing). 1. The Z06 was very down on power, considering it has no actual intake manifold, and the non-functioning supercharger was a giant restriction... I don't think we can take those lap times as serious as you are looking to to make your point. 2. I'm one of the people that say that. The Z06 aero is disproportionate in the amount of drag it creates compared to the amount of downforce it produces. That vertical duckbill is a terrible design. 3. It's really not about "tweaks," its about physical suspension geometry. The corvette has a double wishbone front suspension, the mustang has a Macpherson strut. The Corvette has a vastly superior rear subframe and IRS - the rear struts on a vette are mounted at 45*, which allows room for MASSIVE rims, and much better geometry when loading in a corner. The stock rear rims on my dad's c7 z are 12", which is nuts. The mustang architecture just isnt set up to be as competitive as the vette. I dont want to take anything away from the mustang, the S550 is leaps and bounds above the S197, which was also a damn good platform, but in no way, shape, or form, is it competing with a high HP c7.
