Curious if the calipers from a 2015+ GT will bolt right on to our 07-12 GT500's using the 13/14 GT500 brake lines. Can be had much cheaper than 13/14 GT500 brakes from what ive found.

"For 2015 the Mustang GT will now be wearing front brake rotors just shy of 14-inches and the Performance Pack will offer six-piston 15-inch brakes, similar to what was used on the GT500 in 2013-14"

Excerpt from a stangTV article i found involving Kenny brown....looks like they will....woohoo

From what I remember, the calipers mount up fine with a couple of small washers, but you need to run the 13/14 rotors.

Not to be dumb, but the same thing should apply for the '15 4 piston brake calipers right? That would be a very very economical way for non brembo guys to get them.

Yes. I bought a set of take offs from Shelby America so ill see for myself what it takes besides the obvious brake line/rotor change. Couldnt locate a set of 13/14 take offs for under $1500 in good condition and these were half that. Even buying rotors and brake lines im only $1000 into them

Hmm. So If I buy the 2013-14 calipers new from AN White Bear they are $740 incl core charge (still need lines and rotors and pads).
I would like to understand what additional benefit the 15+ offer? I need to upgrade, too.

Thanks,

The 15 calipers are the same as 13/14 GT500 calipers. The ones i bought from Shelby come with pads...rotors...and lines...all of which i can resell that of which i dont use. Ill offload my 4 piston units and basically end up even or maybe $100-$200 in overall cost to upgrade...win win to me lol. Ill eventually upgrade to lightweight rotors but stock will do for now.

After driving my buddies 13 i needed to upgrade...stops so much better.

I got lucky and bought some 2013 shelby brakes for $450 with rotors, pads, shields and lines with under 100 miles(guy had it upgraded to a super snake). They stop much better, you should do a write-up when you're done to help other guys do the conversion down the line :)

Only mod ive had to do thus far is to shave the tab back that keeps the banjo bolt and boss from rotating. On the 15 6 piston caliper its twice as thick as the 13/14 caliper. Very easy to clearance and now the 13/14 brake lines work perfectly.
