any former c6 owners here?

Well, I used to have an 04 cobra(mods in sig) and loved that car. It has all the potential in the world and was a blast to drive. I always loved the C6z06, but kinda wanted the targa along with the widebody. The Grand Sport came out and I got a hell of a deal on it. So I sold the cobra.

I love the vette as it handles on rails, is quite fast, and looks baller. Dispite all of this, I still miss the cobra at times. I mostly miss the supercharger wine, and instant TQ. Not to mention my GF love the vette 10x more than the cobra. lol

I am now thinking of putting a cam in the vette, or selling it off for another cobra.

I don't know why I feel this way, bc the vette is very sexy and is plenty fast, but I could mod the cobra to another level and it would be unique as opposed to just another vette.

are there any other former vette owners that have done this? Do you reget it, and or miss certain things about the vette.

Keep the GS and do a head/cam/fast 102 setup, maybe some spray even. You'll forget all about the Cobra I think.

I have the privilege of driving a C6Z any time I want. With that being said, I'll be a former Cobra owner and a future Z06 owner.

I know how you feel with the whine and the cheap modding and all but it is unbelievable how fast these things are in stock form. I am a die hard Ford fan but I was bitten by the Vette bug.

You will be very surprised how well those Vette motors respond to just a cam and long tubes.

And still run 15's. Lol.

Yes I would say its cheap to make power in a Cobra compared to other cars. Even the exhaust is half the price than the C6 vette.

sexy vette. I know a guy who got rid of a cobra and got a c6z. He doesn't miss the cobra, hell, he threw a vortec on the vette. I love my cobra, but I think that the z's are just as sweet, if not more.

I already have the longtubes, intake, tune(a conservative one at that) and dynoed at 420hp 420tq. If I do the cam I would like to be anywhere north of 475hp. I think that would be enough for the street.

lol have you ever priced any mods for a vette? yes, the cobra is CHEAP compared to modding a vette.

it cracks me up how people are saying - hey the vette will be fast once you swap cams, heads, etc. lol any idea on about how much money that is to have all of that done (and having to pay someone else to do the work)? point being...you can make just about any car fast, if you put a shit load of money into it. (dont get me wrong, i know vettes are fast, and in some ways superior to our cobras, etc, etc,....just sayin!)

i would (and did) choose the cobra over a vette!! anyday.

Vette does look good. After driving my friends C5Z06 I would have considered getting one and selling mine, but not now. Too much time invested in the Cobra and I like it too much. I'd definitely consider owning both though.

That vette is gorgeous. If you really want to get back into a Cobra, I would consider swapping my Whippled vert for the right deal.

i think this edelbrock tvs kit looks pretty intriguing and the factory hood works. i'm sure even the entry level boost kit would make that ls3 powered gs a rocket and greatly enhance the street light to street light low end level tq, something a cam'd na ls3 will not do

already have borla stingers and love them. Corsa is way to high pitched for me.

for thoes who are saying to just bolt a supercharger on and be done...Thats biiiigggg money people. around 8k-9k with a new clutch.


cam=2k-2.5k. not even close to the same.

maybe vette &cobra, how about stop modding the vette and use the money to buy another cobra, you can find a beaten on one for around 13K
