I had the main electrical panel replaced on my home and am not really liking how the electrician is wanting to mount the new panel.

To me it looks like this panel needs to be flush mounted to an exterior wall. So I am thinking this needs to be restucco'd and the panel would mount to the"new" stucco wall.

The electrician is saying he will frame behind the panel and the stucco guy can stucco to the panel.

Is there a right or wrong way to do this? Dont mind the pieces of OSB, those are just temporary.

Square D Homeline 200? Encapsulating around the panel limits any kind of future expansion or troubleshooting repairs. Odd panel to work with in that situation.

What makes it odd to work with? Sorry I don’t know much about electrical. We don’t plan on expanding.

Outside under the meter seems like a weird spot, my breaker is in the garage and secure. Lock it up.
That’s where the panel was before. Pretty much every house here has the panel outside like mine

Lol. Hopefully it’s better once patched up.

Haha no worries. It's nothing on you, it's just a reference to an older thread on here.

I’m not an electrician but I can remove your shorts and check your box.

My house is like that too. I think it’s a California thing. Any Joe Schmoe can walk up to it and turn off my breakers. The locking device to lock it can just be ripped off even if I did lock it.

Mines mounted outside like this as well in Texas.

I suppose as long as water intrusion can be prevented this is probably fine.

If it were me, I'd want some kind of material behind that panel. To just have it on the studs and stucco up to it seems wrong to me.
