the correct fix is to loosen the rear main cap, shove the crank forward, tighten the main cap after replacing all the bolts with new TTY bolts, check endplay of crank and clearance of harmonic balancer and timing cover.

Something so small to fix and FRPP had to bust your balls about it.

the sad part is the problem is a simple junk yard check. WILL THE MOTOR SPIN BY HAND? HELL NO! the crank was installed so far back in the block that the harmonic balancer and timing cover are smashed together.

Just take a look at the huge gap between the crank and the front main cap in this picture.................:bash::poke::nono:

Actually the company that builds the motors for ford payed to have mine uninstalled, sent to them and ford sent me another "fixed" one.

But in the end the above is correct, its mainly the issue with front to rear bias of the crank

And from what I've been told all on hand inventory has been checked and fixed if needed and you better believe they know how to put them together after this mess.

I would hope so. Sad thing is they had this issue with early production modular motors and should have learned their lesson back then.
