this is on a 96 Mustang GT. the airbag will flash 5x, then pause, then flash 2x and repeat. anyone has an idea what it can be.

It's trying to relay a code to you, kinda like a morse code. Not sure if the codes are the same as a newer L, but someone has to have a book or a reference guide. Did you also post in the 'stang forum? Perhaps a module going bad?? You can also click the key over a certain amount of turns and it should go away. I know I could on one of my SHOs a while back. Lets see who else can chime in and assist. Good luck with it.
thanks. i'll have my friend clear it since he has all the scan/diagnostic scranners.
